Join the Ford Model E and Ford Blue Shop-Buy platform engineering team responsible for providing Web and eCommerce solutions that power the online consumer experiences for vehicle lines, parts & accessories, subscriptions, etc., across all Ford global markets.

The LL6 Product Engineering Manager will establish and direct several product teams in the software delivery of B2C platforms and products, including all new eCommerce capabilities. This role includes building and motivating great teams while managing all dimensions of software delivery, including agile development, scope management, and program integration/delivery planning.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, Minimum 12+ years
  • Strong hands-on Software engineering/ programming/ solution design experience
  • Experience/Awareness of Microservices architecture, Cloud-Native architectures, Event-driven architectures, APIs, Domain-Driven Design, Public Cloud (Google Cloud), Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, building scalable, reliable, L&P testing.
  • Strong technical background with the capability of being hands-on and earning respect and the ability to mentor top individual technical talent.
  • Conversant in multiple programming languages.
  • Experience collaborating and partnering with other technical domain experts such as cloud, security, SRE, and DevOps.
  • Experience in Cloud Native systems, Transactional Systems, Multi-Tenancy, five-nines availability, and Containerization technologies
  • Effectively work with cross-functional teams across the organization – inside and outside of the technology and software organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead through change

Desired Skills:

  • Experience/awareness in building structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data stores with a good understanding of RDBMS, No-SQL databases, and intense exposure to data modeling, data access patterns, data replication, and active-active, polyglot persistence setup.
  • Knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing concepts, including scalability, performance, and consistency characteristics of a microservices-driven eCommerce architecture
  • Experience in Marketing and Sales, Digital Commerce, FCSD, CRM-like portfolios
  • Experience driving business change concurrent with new technology

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead software craftsmanship of 3-4 product teams related to Shop-Buy-eCommerce product journeys and platforms
  • Bring commerce platform engineering expertise and experience to significantly improve Ford’s current capabilities and ensure these platforms can grow to meet increasing demands
  • Establish a platform improvement roadmap that describes key areas of priority based on the assessment of current capabilities and identifies critical dependencies
  • Identify and recommend related enterprise foundational technology capabilities and improvements or business model changes that should be pursued to improve our customer platform capability
  • Contribute to Ford’s Product Driven Organization (PDO) model by identifying improvements and areas that help to reduce dependencies and increase autonomy for teams to deliver.
  • Present and review plans and results to senior IT and business partner management
