CenterPointe Hospital offers mental health treatment for adolescents, adults and senior adults, as well as active duty military, veterans and first responders. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7a - 3p. PT hours!
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
- One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance abuse nursing experience a plus
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
AHRN
REGISTERED NURSE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for education of patients and their families regarding ECT.
- Assists in the informed consent process and serves as coordinator for the ECT team, patient, staff nurses and attending psychiatrists.
- Responsible for reviewing the medical record and determining if the appropriate data is present. Oversees that all required ECT documents are made available and easily accessible in the chart.
- Maintains the ECT treatment room and other equipment as per policy.
- Assists in logistical coordination of treatments.
- Assists pre, intra, and post ECT treatment as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
- Discharge patient as per instructions of the psychiatrist after cleared by anesthesia. Inpatients discharged to the respective units. Outpatients discharged only with a responsible party, to their place of residence.
- Responsible or monitoring vital signs and mental status during the acute post seizure and post anesthesia period.
- The recovery nurse should also be capable of monitoring intravenous fluid, suctioning, administering oxygen and determining when intervention by an anesthetist or treating psychiatrist is indicated.
