Educational Support Specialist ($18-22/hour, Hybrid Position)
Student Professional Development staff help students develop their professional skills to become successful in their disciplines. The office helps connect students to research opportunities, internships, and full-time employment through a variety of different services and resources. The office offers one-on-one coaching, interview practice, group workshops and virtual resume reviews, and hosts a variety of networking events, job fairs, and informational sessions with employers and alumni. Through its CST Opportunities email and Canvas website, students can find resources to help build resumes, prepare for interviews, and explore careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, and Handshake profile reviews
- Support the development and production of events and job fairs
- Create digital and print advertisements for events and services
- Manage employer relations database in Excel
- Produce weekly newsletters to engage students and alumni in events, research, and job opportunities
- Maintain the office’s Canvas site
- Manage administrative tasks to support Science Scholars Program, a research program for undergraduate students
- Additional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to work 20 hours per week
Required Skills:
- Ability to stay organized and maintain strong attention to detail
- Comfortable collaborating as part of a team and working on individual projects
- Exceptional verbal and written communication
- Ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively
- Ability to take initiative with sharing new ideas and work independently
- Have a willingness to learn independently as well as be taught
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Canva and/or other professional design tools such as Adobe
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
