Wolfspeed is seeking a EHS Manager, Global Facilities Expansion to join the Environment, Health, & Safety Team (EHS). This person will be responsible to provide high quality EHS leadership and support our internal customers and Wolfspeed's expanding footprint. Function as the EHS interface for new greenfield sites and existing building expansions in support of Semiconductor Device and Materials manufacturing across the Wolfspeed Global Manufacturing Network. This position is responsible for ensuring Wolfspeed expansion efforts are aligned with Enterprise Sustainability Goals, compliance with Global EHS Policies, Local Requirements, Project Schedules, and Budgets.
The Day-to-Day:
- Leads Project Design and EHS Scope Development, Documentation, Change Control Review, supports Vendor Selection, Project Design for Safety and Environmental Excellence.
- Works closely with the Global Facilities Engineering Team (GFET).
- Leads environmental permitting efforts for all media: Air, Water, Waste.
- Updates system Design and Standards documentation for safe, sustainable operations and maintenance based on prior system designs, Lessons Learned, and approved new technologies and innovations.
- Provides Wolfspeed EHS specifications and standards to Design Firms and provide supervision and coordination of consultant resources as required.
- Provides consultation and support to Operations and Maintenance and Manufacturing as the EHS Technical Discipline Subject Matter Expert
- Leads EHS Discipline Team Meetings with Network Engineering to share Ideas, BKMs, Lessons Learned and provide updates and collection inputs on new Designs, Project Statues, Innovations, Etc.
- Partners with Network Engineers to analyze existing Network system designs to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, cost savings, emissions reductions, and improved safety systems.
- Supports sites with problem analysis using standard tools, structured problem-solving methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
- Four-year degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related Engineering field. Master’s Degree, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
- Membership in industry professional associations (ASSE, ACGIH, SESHA).
- Minimum 10-year experience in the EHS Arena with a focus on Design and Construction of Semiconductor or similar Facilities.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply occupational safety standards, environmental permitting & compliance regulations, SEMI Standards, RAGAGEP, IBC, FM Global requirements, and Safe Work Practices.
- Ability to apply EHS concepts and related knowledge in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of operational Systems and equipment in a high-volume manufacturing plant
- Ability to read and interpret one-line drawings and construction schematics.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25% of the time
