The Trevor Project recently voluntarily recognized The Communications Workers of America (CWA) as the representative of certain employees for collective bargaining purposes, and this position is in the bargaining unit. The Trevor Project is currently negotiating the first collective bargaining agreement with the union that will cover the terms and conditions of employment for this position.
Role: eLearning Developer
Reports to: Instructional Design Manager
Location: Remote
Hours: Full-time
Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000
Overview of the role
As the eLearning Developer, you will develop asynchronous eLearning for Trevor’s staff and volunteers. As a member of the Instructional Design team, you will be responsible for collaborating with subject matter experts,implementing storyboards, creating visually impactful designs, and developing performance-driven activities using eLearning courseware and an LMS.
Reporting to the Instructional Design Manager, the eLearning Developer will play a crucial role in Trevor's success in training staff and hundreds of volunteers each month to become life-saving crisis service volunteers. The organization is growing its volunteer base to more than 5,000 volunteers domestically and thousands more globally as Trevor expands to meet the needs of LGBTQ youth around the world.
Who You Are
- Highly organized. You have a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and prioritize appropriately. You have created clear and logical systems and processes to support your work and that of the organization.
- Experienced. You are an experienced eLearning developer, with a demonstrated technical background in rapid development authoring tools. You’ve successfully created engaging and interactive eLearning content using Adobe Creative Suite & Captivate, Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360,TechSmith Camtasia, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SCORM authoring tools. You have a working knowledge of various LMS and CMS applications.
- User-centric design. You have a proven approach that puts yourself in the shoes of the audience and prioritize their experience alongside efficiency and effectiveness. You have a working knowledge of accessibility and equitable design standards.
- Collaborative. You have a proven ability to take the directions and suggestions from your colleagues and incorporate them into your design and development process, and seek out and build successful partnerships with the right stakeholders to make decisions and advance multiple perspectives to drive ideas forward.
- Relationship builder. You have a demonstrated track record of cultivating relationships putting people at the core of our organization, placing a premium on customer service.
- Detail-oriented.You have an eye for detail and ensure quality in all of your deliverables
- Strong Communicator. You have proven verbal and written communication skills, including skills in collaborating with subject matter experts and managers to help design, develop and deliver training, communicating clearly and concisely. You have demonstrated experience getting and giving respectful and constructive feedback to the people working with you.

What You'll Do
- Contribute to our critical mission of ending suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people, while fostering an inclusive approach to your direct work and engagement with Trevor colleagues across the organization
- Continually grow your LGBTQ competency and awareness
- Work with Subject Matter Experts and Instructional Designers to create engaging asynchronous eLearning content for individual and blended learning, virtual classrooms, assessments and learner activities.
- Assess for skills & performance and measure training impact using a variety of formats, including Instructor- Led training, assessment evaluations and learner surveys.
- Edit and maintain online learning material and LMS content, running reports in LMS, and supporting LMS administration.
- Assist with localization of eLearning modules, including designing for accessibility standards.
- Training issues in training materials and drive to resolution.
- Other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned
