Position Description:

MANAGER WILL Immediately reject -

If no engineering degree, candidate is automatically rejected REGARDLESS of experience
He prefers electrical engineering majors but ANY should be okay with experience
He loves local candidates - already A + for him, if they are familiar with volkswagen, terms, VW knowledge, worked in factory, worked for a supplier
Preferrably - someone who has concept of software validation
Receive software, run through test catalog
Validation work before (not necessarily in auto)

The job involves a lot of time on the road, they test navigation, driving to nearby cities (ATL, Nashville, Knox)

Whole week where they drive to DC, New York, Miami
Planning something to Texas soon

Day-to-day operation for someone on the team ?

Test drives are planned, you wont show up and we say "guess what you are going to texas" its planned in advanced
While driving you just drive, passengers - they are testing -
Most of the job AT THE EPC when not traveling - for every project/software - test catalog, test cases, pre-conditions, what to do, expected outcome, you sit and make sure preconditions are correct, run test case, put Fail/Pass
For failed test case, create error report or Ticket
Appropriate people fix it
Then you verify the fix and its no longer there

Role Summary:
The person will be responsible for testing NAR specific radio/media/connectivity functions within the market. Testing will consist of static bench and dynamic road tests as well as all documentation, failure analysis and tracking with the suppliers and responsible colleagues in Wolfsburg, Germany. Ensuring that the test equipment is prepared to the correct version levels is also a requirement of this position.

Role Responsibilities:
Infotainment Testing and Reporting - (60%)

• Executes the Infotainment / Connectivity testing for VW infotainment systems.
• Reports and communicates results and critical issues to key project partners

Functional Error Resolution - (20%)

• Provides documentation (failure report, tracing) on infotainment communication errors found during static and dynamic evaluation
• Uploads the documentation to the central database and follows up directly with responsible engineers for resolution

Test Equipment Management - (20%)

• Ensure the test benches and vehicles are at the correct version levels
• Define and implement changes with the team as required

Specialized Skills Required:

• Experience with automotive infotainment control modules
• Experience testing infotainment technology and the interaction with in-vehicle systems
• Understanding of vehicle communication networks and the ability to capture communication traces

Desired:

• Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with automotive infotainment control module root cause analysis
• Experience testing/releasing full vehicle electrical systems (module and functional testing)
• Experience with Volkswagen infotainment control modules
• Ability to trouble-shoot communication breakdowns within the network by analyzing the network communication
• German language skills

Years of Experience Required:

• 1-3 years of related engineering experience

Education Required:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Desired: Masters in Electrical Engineering

Work Flexibility:

• Requires onsite work
• Travel to the suppliers and VW facilities
• Frequent road testing consisting of 1-2 weeks on the road

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

• Dearborn, MI: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
