Primary Function: Works with Electrical Engineering team to design and document machine components for the utilityindustry. Responsibilities would include creating models and placing them in a 3D environment, documenting machine componentry and layout, harness routing, assisting procurement with finding substitute materials, and working with vendors on design changes. Works closely with new product development and responsible for continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities: Uses computer aided engineering design software, and equipment, to develop electrical design drawings and schematics. Develop detailed drawings for new products. Communicates with manufacturing on production issues. Works with procurement to select suitable substitute parts and helps source new components. Works with the mechanical design team to coordinate space claim and mounting provisions for component placement and harness routing. Documents assigned tasks as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience:

Associate's degree in drafting and design, electrical engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent

3+ years experience in electrical design preferred, but recent graduates with an associate degree and design certificate are encouraged to apply

Knowledge of electrical system symbols and legends

Experience designing equipment in a mobile or off-road industry is preferred

2+years experience with SolidWorks 3D modeling

Experience in SolidWorks electrical is highly desired

Ability to read and interpret schematics

Microsoft office tools

Knowledge of manufacturing processes

Ability to interpret and correct redline drawings
