Job summary:
Designs and evaluates products, commercially practical and technically sufficient for an assigned unit based on predetermined electrical characteristics. Determine working relationship of various elements of design based upon new and/or original arrangement of electrical detail. Conducts research and applies knowledge of electricity and materials. Assures product integrity and capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Review and determine specifications for subsequent creation of engineering documentation.
- Responsible for the arrangement of electrical details and preparing 12V harness design layouts.
- Responsible for programming of multiplex systems.
- Troubleshoot and/or repair 12V and 110V systems.
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.
- May be involved in testing designs and configurations for compliance with standards.
- May be responsible for training and guidance of designers or engineers.
- May be required to provide support to sales, marketing, service, warranty, and production departments.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years- experience working with CAD. Experience working with Inventor (preferred but not required)
- Two to five (2-5) years of experience working knowledge of multiplex design, Controller Area Network (CAN BUS), and J1939 Protocol.
- Proficient in MS Excel (Ability to recognize suitable tasks in macros) Word, Outlook
- Experience with problem solving techniques & root cause analysis
- Understanding of 12V and 110V electrical systems.
- Understand relationship between voltage, current, and resistance.
- Understanding of Boolean algebra.
- Must have excellent communication skills with ability to interface directly with production employees as well as management concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the specialty vehicle or truck chassis manufacturing field
