ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, WIRE HARNESS
Location: Walker, MI (3710 Northridge Dr. NW)
Status: Permanent, Full-Time, Salary, Exempt
Experience/Seniority: Mid-Level/Experienced
Regular Hours: Monday - Thursday, 10 hour days (6am - 4pm) and Fridays only as needed/required
Remote Status: In-Office; this position is not open to regular remote work and you must be able to regularly commute to our location in Walker, MI.

The Electrical Engineering, Wire Harness position works with the engineering team to provide cable design recommendations. Designing, programing, modifying, and verifying BOM’s for electrical system components make up the primary role of this individual. They will also work with the team to provide support in the areas of hardware estimation, engineering, troubleshooting, and customer support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in electrical design reviews for new military programs from start to finish
- Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, and motor controls
- Prepare technical drawings, BOMs, specifications of electrical systems which conform to IPC Class II and Class III / AMS standards and customer requirements
- Problem solves major issues with mainly with cable harnesses and preferred general CCA and testing abilities.
- Management of assigned projects and duties
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Proficient with MS Office, and some knowledge of PLC and HMI software preferred
- Preferred experience in cable assembly design software, including: Capital Mentor and Zuken
- Project engineering, including fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC and related test equipment
- IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 CIS certifications preferred
- Overall understanding of electrical design, BOM’s, AutoCAD, etc.
- Ability to exercise critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Motivated and result-driven with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

QUALIFICATIONS

- Education: Degree in related field or equivalent work experience (Preferred)
- Certifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 CIS certifications (Preferred)
- Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Required)
- Computer Skills: PLC & HMI software (Preferred)
- Experience: Cloud-based ERP experience (Preferred)
- Experience: Cable assembly design software, including Capital Mentor and Zuken (Preferred)
