- Salary range $103,000-$123,000 per year depending on experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Electrical Project Engineer possesses, understands, and applies knowledge and experience in the full life-cycle project management of multiple projects from proposal conception to commissioning and close-out. Projects include capacity, process and reliability improvements for areas throughout the facility. The Electrical Project Engineer's essential functions include:
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional project teams to develop project scope and requirements
- Develop and manage project scope, resourcing plan, budget, and schedule
- Prepare capital authorizations
- Develop specifications and evaluate technical engineering and equipment bid packages
- Administer engineering, equipment purchase and installation contracts
- Coordinate and manage installations and outages
- Track and report final project performance, schedule, and cost compliance
- Review design packages and drawings for compliance with contract documents and Kaiser standards
- Coordinate with internal Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Engineering resources to achieve project objectives
- Participate in the final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications
- Assist in trouble-shooting equipment control and electrical systems
- Coordinate and support electrical safety initiatives and Kaiser electrical standards
EDUCATION
An undergraduate degree in BSEE or BSET is required.
EXPERIENCE
This individual will possess:
- Minimum of 5 years previous electrical engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience managing projects in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with functional and performance-based specification development
- Familiarity with electrical and control system design including key documents such as schematics diagrams, single lines, P&ID and control narratives
- Knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical systems, AC/DC motors and drive systems and National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E
- Knowledge of control system theory, instrumentation, PLC based control systems and safety systems
- Excellent analytical skills including knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Strong Word, Excel, MS Project skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work in teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Approximately 80% of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. 20% of the job function is required in the plant. There is exposure to operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.
