POSITION SUMMARY: An Electromechanical Technician assembles nanopositioner stages, cables, and controllers with the utmost quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Assemble products from a combination of any of the following: work orders; drawings, sketches, and written instructions
• Performs in-process inspections to verify work is completed within standards
• Perform testing of product using standard test equipment, capture data, verify conformance to specifications, and document results with full accuracy
• Identify assembly problems and notify a supervisor
• Understands basic assembly techniques and use of basic hand and measuring tools
• Ability to assemble connectors such as DSub and Molex
• Ability to work with soldering irons, wire cutters, epoxy, and micro-TIG welders
• Ability and willingness to do repetitive tasks
• Always maintain the highest quality standards
• Always maintain a safe work ethic
• Other duties as assigned to promote optimal customer satisfaction

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 – 3 years of assembly experience in a Production environment
• Mechanical inspection experience
• Soldering experience
• Knowledge of precision measuring tools
• Must have good soldering and mechanical assembly skills
• Must have great communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to details required
• Quality oriented
• Good computer skills – Microsoft Office

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent and 1 to 3 years’ experience in a related role or equivalent combination of related education and experience. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel. Strong knowledge of Internet and Intranet functionality.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Overtime may be required during busy times and must be approved by the Manager, before working.
