Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicant MUST have teaching experience (or has done student teaching), not just know how to speak Spanish.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Holds a Florida Professional Educator License (Teaching Certificate) with appropriate endorsement(s) or holds a Teaching Certificate from another state and applying in Florida.

• Have a faith background.
• Eager and ready to teach classroom Spanish to students.
• Have understanding and experience with preschool and elementary age students.
• Display strong communication skills (written and oral).
• Be enthusiastic and energetic and have full command of the appreciation for all of the Arts.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Headmaster, the Teacher will plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students so they can learn and master Spanish.

Essential Job Skills:

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties, and others not listed, in a timely manner:

• Supervise students in a variety of school settings
• Teach content and skills utilizing the the Florida Performance Standards
• Teach Spanish to PK3 - 5th grade students
• Modify instructional plans and materials to meet individual student needs based on the analysis of data

• Teach WIN (What I Need) groups as assigned - small intervention type groups once a day
• Evaluate and assess student progress against instructional objectives
• Maintain accurate, efficient, and effective records for instructional and non-instructional purposes
• Participates in staff meetings
• Demonstrate knowledge of educational research, trends and best practices
• Be a reflective practitioner
• Be a reliable encouraging communicator with students, parents and staff
• Be a positive role model
• Be a team player
