Cimarron is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to be responsible for the software design, development, and integration of the Flight Management Computer Software to support the Axiom Space Commercial Space Station in Houston, TX.

Key Duties:

• Develop, integrate, and deploy embedded software that performs the Fault, Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) of the station computers, hardware, and devices.
• Develop software functionality to distribute space station time; confirm the operational status of space station hardware; execute steps to initiate redundancy protocols to bring hardware/functionality back online; distribute station operational status and configuration.
• Create, test, and integrate embedded software in prototype and flight environments.
• Communicate with subject matter experts across disciplines, users, and management throughout the software test and development lifecycle.
• Maintain disciplined software configuration control and management processes.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
• Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
• 10 or more years of experience developing software using C++ in a Linux environment.
• Comfortable with common embedded communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, USB, RS-232/422/485, and ethernet.
• Previous experience developing Flight software.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical discipline.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience with JIRA, Bit Bucket, Enterprise Architect, JAMA, and Confluence.
