Emergency Medical Technician Adjunct Instructor (PT)
Job description
Requirements:
- Must be a nationally registered advanced EMT or paramedic.
- Must have an unrestricted jurisdictional medical control agreement and be state certified in Mississippi at that same level.
- Must have current AHA certification in CPR.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the EMS field.
- Must be familiar with learning software, grading, and other forms of evaluation.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
- Must pass a drug screen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops lesson plans and syllabi and submits them to the coordinator for approval.
- Ensures students remain compliant with policies and procedures of the Department of Emergency Medical Technology, Division of Health Sciences, and Coahoma Community College.
- Fulfill contractual assignments as per the consultant agreement, including any specific course instruction or any outreach classes for the community within the area served by Coahoma Community College.
- Maintain any non-perishable equipment; report any malfunctions to the coordinator.
- Attend departmental meetings as available when scheduled.
- Report to the coordinator (or program director) any problems in student performance of required competencies (cognitive, psychomotor, affective domains) as needed for corrective action.
- Maintain attendance and grades of students in both the lecture/lab and clinical/field components of the program to which they are assigned. Ensure the coordinator is aware of student attendance at clinical/field sites once scheduled so the coordinator can verify no over-scheduling between EMT and paramedic students at a given location.
- Responsible to the Coordinator.
