Job description

Promote restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury and protection from work related and environmental hazards for employees. Provide occupational health services such as medical surveillance, training, counseling, and monitoring the delivery of health care services for employees of the hospital for work-related injuries and/or illnesses. Advise employees on occupational health programs, work-related health/safety issues, return-to-work program, and administration of the workers compensation program. Responsible for the coordination of health care services for employees in order to achieve optimal, quality care in a cost-effective manner consistent with Weirton Medical Center policies and procedures and JCAHO requirements.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of West Virginia. Baccalaureate degree in a health care related field preferred. Possesses evidence of education, training or experience related to medical surveillance, work-related injury prevention and control. Working knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, AAOHN, and FMLA standards. Ability to perform audiometric and fit testing.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years clinical health care experience required. Experience with work-related injuries in an occupational medicine environment, or emergency nursing with knowledge of WV workers compensation preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.10 - $38.20 per hour
