Job Summary :
To serve the needs of clients, hospital associates, physicians, and EMS providers affiliated with the hospital through the effective and efficient coordination of educational and managerial services required to promote countywide Emergency Medical Services.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Maintain compliance/renewal of current Training Institution and/or Sponsoring/Supervising Agency certifications, as determined by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Medical Services Commission.
2. Serve as a liaison between Hendrick’s Regional Health and affiliated EMS agencies to provide supportive communication and collegial relationships.
3. Solicit timely feedback to identify areas of need from Hendricks County fire/EMS agencies relating to Medical Direction, automatic case reviews, education, and data collection.
4. Collaborate and/or coordinate initiatives and benchmarks for a system-wide quality improvement program (QI) that identifies trends in EMS utilization of the Emergency Departments and progress towards specified goals.
5. Coordinate with Hendricks Regional Health EMS Medical Directors to provide ongoing education, quality improvement opportunities, and educational opportunities.
6. Possess knowledge of current State of Indiana and National Registry requirements for maintenance/renewal of all levels of certifications.
7. Obtain a working knowledge of equipment and Patient Care Reporting software utilized by Affiliated Provider agencies.
8. Attend Indiana EMS Commission meetings, Education sub-committees, and other meetings as necessary to effectively represent Hendricks Regional Health.
9. Schedule, coordinate and participate in ongoing and renewal education programs.
10. Supervise and communicate with affiliated Primary Instructors, to include annual performance critiques.
11. Participate as an instructor for Hendricks Regional Health educational offerings as needed.
12. Facilitate the affiliation process for all new EMT’s, Paramedics and Instructors of affiliated provider agencies.
13. Maintain official files and records in accordance with policies defined by Hendricks Regional Health, Indiana EMS Commission, and accrediting agencies.
14. Effectively work with and maintain flexibility with other members of the EMS Education team.
15. Collaborate with marketing department, Medical Directors, and Director of the Emergency Department EMS awareness initiatives and special projects.
16. Maintain personal mandatory licensure and certifications designated for the EMS Coordinator position.

Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years previous experience
Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:
1. EMT-P, ACLS/BLS, PHTLS/BTLS
2. Primary Instructor certification
