Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Design and Engineering, the Design Lead will be responsible for supervising a subset of designers within the design and engineering department. The Design Lead will provide support, direction and training to the subset of designers to ensure they are working efficiently, and with minimal error. The ideal candidate is an individual with solar design and/or Energy System Storage (ESS) design experience who excels at leading and improving the performance of others. The design lead must be organized, personable, and have a deep understanding of the solar and/or ESS design standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Provides technical support and training to design team members.
• Utilizes leadership techniques to improve the overall performance of the design team members.
• Utilizes performance and quality data metrics to evaluate the performance of the team and addresses issues accordingly.
• Manages team personnel including onboarding, performance management and annual performance reviews.
• Works with the manager of design and engineering to develop and maintain standards for design team processes.
• Continuously researches new and existing product updates to ensure designs are compliant with current manufacturer specifications and AHJ code updates.

Education and/ or Work Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1+ years of AutoCAD experience preferred but not required
• 2+ years of solar/ESS design experience required
• 1+ year leadership experience preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
