Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Environmental Specialist, Projects and Permitting through May 18th, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time
The Environmental Specialist for Projects & Permitting is responsible for leading the implementation, compliance, communication, and continued improvement of many of the elements of the environmental program at the Chevron Salt Lake Refinery. Primary responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
  • Perform project reviews and MOC reviews to identify and advise on permitting requirements
  • Submit permit applications for new projects
  • Perform updates to Issues Management Plans which pertain to Air Quality, such as State Implementation Plans
  • Serve as the point of contact for Title V permitting as the permit is drafted. Develop compliance systems needed for Title V additional requirements such as exception reporting.
  • Advising on refinery compliance issues and support other air specialists in their positions
  • Maintain tools for Liaison on-call officers and performs on-call duties
  • Support the development of environmental personnel
  • Represent the Chevron Salt Lake Refinery with Utah Petroleum Association interactions, developing relationships with other facility partners and supporting the guidance of regulatory development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies
  • Provide regular updates to refinery management teams on projects and processes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with field personnel and those of other disciplines to ensure communication on compliance and environmental needs are clear
  • Required to participate in occasional off-hours events including community engagements, turnaround support, and environmental response activities.
  • This position reports directly to the Environmental Team Lead.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental field
  • 5+ years of environmental experience within a manufacturing facility
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in air compliance permitting
  • Experience performing advocacy, working with industry groups and regulating bodies
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered.
