POSITION SUMMARY:The Equipment Operator I Water Distribution position is primarily responsible for the operation of technical and heavy equipment used in construction and maintenance work of the water distribution system. Performs tasks required in maintenance of the sewer collection system, and as necessary, the water distribution system. Skills are required in sewer and water pipe installation and repair, pump operations and system maintenance programs. This position may lead other water distribution and sewer collection employees in assigned maintenance tasks and projects. This position is supervised by a Division Supervisor or Division Manager.

WORK HOURS:Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
One (1) year of experience in the area of water distribution operations and maintenance, sewer collection, heavy equipment operation or water and sewer system construction or closely related work is required.
Must possess a Missouri level "I" Water Distribution Certificate of Competency or obtain within 12 months of hire date.
A Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement is required.
Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement or obtain within 12 months of hire date.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
National Career Readiness Certificate preferred but not required.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with the Division Supervisor in achieving those goals.
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to those internal or external to the department.
Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug and alcohol screenings, and physical capability examinations for the position.
Must fulfill 1-9 identification requirements within the guidelines set forth by the Department of Homeland Security through the E-Verify system.
