JOB SUMMARY:

The Equipment Manager/Mechanic is responsible for supplying equipment/materials to job sites, while performing skilled work in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel powered automotive, road and heavy civil construction equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manages equipment utilization schedule for the region through the dispatcher program.
• Works with project teams to get updated equipment schedules as needed to optimize equipment utilization within the Region.
• Locates and processes equipment rentals with approval by General Superintendent and equipment department.
• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, and maintains gasoline and diesel powered automotive, pump rigs, drill rigs, cranes, compressors, etc. and their component parts/systems.
• Oversees and coordinates all equipment mobilization.
• Orders transportation permits for required transports.
• Manages runner and tracks weekly time.
• Reviews and prepares reports for General Superintendent on equipment usage through heavy job.
• Reads job orders, observes, and listens to vehicles in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures. Drives repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.
• Operates automotive and heavy equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Must have three to five (5) years of experience working on heavy civil construction equipment.
• Must be able to use forklift, hydraulic lift, hand cart, air and power tools, welding tools and otherequipment employed in all phases of gasoline and diesel powered automotive, road and heavy civil equipment and mechanical maintenance and repair work.
• Must have experience in diagnosing and repairing gasoline and/or diesel automotive and heavy civil construction equipment.
• Not mandatory but preferred to have valid commercial driver’s license.
• Clean driver’s abstract of record is required.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
