ER CHARGE CAPTURE SPECIALIST-REMOTE POSITION (Ohio Residents Only)

Position Summary
This team does the following for both Aultman Hospital and Aultman Orrville Hospital:
The ER charge capture team is responsible for reviewing all documentation to accurately assign and charge for the ER levels, procedures and other applicable charges. The team is responsible for obtaining optimal revenue while maintaining compliance with all regulations. The position requires knowledge of; charge capture and flow processes, charging information systems, coding and reimbursement regulations.
Primary Responsibilities & Requirements
- Review all clinical documentation daily for ER visits for Aultman main campus ER, Aultman Massillon ER and Aultman Orrville ER
- Post charges via Cerner Facility Charge Ticket and Cerner Batch Charge Entry
- Collaborates closely with the coding department staff
- Assist manager with communication regarding clinical documentation in relation to charge capture.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards
- Maintain attendance in accordance with departmental standards
- Complete safety evaluation, JCAHO Education, TB Testing, Confidentiality, Information Systems usage and HIPAA/Corporate Compliance notification on an annual basis
- Exhibit accepted level of Teamwork and RESPECT
- Accept change as needed to meet departmental goals
- Prepare or assist with other projects/duties as assigned
Desired Job Qualifications/Skill Sets
- Coding and billing experience for ER or outpatient hospital setting helpful
- CCS, CCSP or Coding Certificate helpful
- Experience in hospital reimbursement, revenue audits or charge capture helpful
- Knowledge of current Medicare and other regulatory billing guideline
- Ability to manage multiple demands from a variety of constituents
- Solid computer skills helpful (Excel, PowerPoint, Medipac, Cerner, Microsoft TEAMs, Internet)
- Health information or nursing professional helpful
- Pays close attention to detail and presentation
- Effective communicator
