Job description
- Instruct English Learner students individually or in groups in oral language activities that foster the child's participation in the school's total program.
- Provide written language activities until the student is ready to join an existing language arts group within the school.
- Recommend appropriate modifications of the child's regular classroom assignments with respect to the existing English language level.
- Assist in developing a sequential ESL Program.
- Assist in developing/assembling relevant assessment materials.
- Assist in developing/assembling materials for classroom use.
- Certification as Teacher of English as a Second Language.
- Experience as teacher of English as a Second Language in a public school setting preferred.
- Fluency in a second language preferred.
- Extended experience living in another culture preferred.
SALARY: Per ASC/Andover Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and District's English Learner Education coordinator
