Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in the evaluation and/or analysis of health, human services or related programs and/or fields; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.

Experience with SAS, GIS; Experience in working with large data sets and analysis of public health data, including data matching; excellent written and oral communication skills. Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, REDCap, and Tableau. Spanish speaking a plus.
Responsibilities :
The Evaluation Specialist III will provide data and technical assistance to internal partners at the New York State Department of Health, and external partners (i.e. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDOHMH) and other public health agencies) on data for the New York State Surveillance for Emerging Threats to Mothers and Babies Network (SET-NET). The incumbent will perform and facilitate data monitoring and analysis, and execute evaluation strategies to monitor the quality and completeness of SET-NET data, provide training and technical assistance to internal and external public health partners, and make recommendations for process and system improvements.
