Executive Sous Chef for Morimoto Maui
- Minimum of Two (2) years of experience as a chef de partie or One (1) year of experience as a junior sous chef in a restaurant or similar environment preferred, adequate knowledge of food safety and sanitation, flexible schedule, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A highly motivated and energetic personality.
- Has the ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
- Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Morimoto Brand standards.
Candidates must be capable of, but not limited to, the following duties/requirements:
- Working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge/familiarity with Japanese cuisine is a plus.
- Maintain quality and proper presentation of food (with adherence to Morimoto Brand Standard).
- Extensive skill, knowledge, and experience in all aspects of the kitchen operation, interpersonal service skills, organizational skills in order to plan time effectively.
- Manage shifts, which include daily decision-making, scheduling, and planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
- Give detailed instructions regarding work to be completed (either directly or by enforcement of well-established rules), allow work, observe performance in detail and work with subordinates to improve performance.
- Ability to motivate employees and work as a team.
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances.
- Able to frequently move freely about the restaurant, stand for long periods and withstand various activities such as frequent walking, standing, and bending.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet and to manipulate them from heights.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
