The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Quality Engineer to join the Total Quality group located in Berkeley, MO; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; Plano, TX or Ridley Park, PA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs Business Intelligence information models, dashboards, metrics and reports utilizing standard technologies and methodologies that meet business objectives.
  • Engages with partners to assess current and new technologies.
  • Combines programming, SQL skills, best practices, strategic decision-making capabilities and business expertise to deliver efficient/scalable Business Intelligent solutions, improving business processes, productivity and outcomes.
  • Works with large data sets to produce output that drives action
  • Produces data visualization via Tableau, QDSS
  • Analyzes Nonconformance (NCR) data to determine and report cause/preventative action needed
  • Leads and supports Problem Solving for Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) and Continuous Improvement in product and process performance.
  • Creates and maintains data models, dashboards, metrics and web pages
  • Makes strategic decisions related to delivering scalable output that supports the business
  • Process design, audit, implement, maintain and govern all aspects related to Quality processes
  • Performs bench-marking and other forms of analysis to ensure processes (i.e. CAR, etc.) capability levels are achieved
  • Identifies and addresses CAR trends through data analysis
  • Provides Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) reviews upon request
  • Coaches teams towards the use of BPSM (Boeing Problem Solving Model)
  • Improves Quality through CAPA via BPSM Phases or other Preventive Action
  • Oversees the development of robust Standard Work methods to ensure Quality and improvement standards

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed locations.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
  • 3+ years developing and delivering presentations to executive leadership
  • 3+ years building dashboards and data visualizations in Tableau
  • 3+ years of experience with relational databases (SQL Server or Oracle)
  • 1+ years of experience in website or portal development
  • 3+ years of experience with leading process improvements
  • 3+ years of experience working cross-functionally in a leadership role
  • 1+ years of experience with statistical analysis and process control, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), utilizing Six Sigma techniques, and familiarization of AS9100 standards
  • 1+ years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with the Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM)
  • Experience in demonstrable Data architecture, data analytics, coding, and systems level thinking
  • Experience in ETL (extract-transform-load)
  • Experience with Python, R, C++, AJAX, ASP.Net 4.5, Bootstrap, C#, CSS3, Entity Framework, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, LINQ, MVC 5, Object Relational Mapping (ORM), SQL, SQL Server Stored Procedures, XML
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Databricks
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, XP

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area of one of the Boeing sites listed, or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
