WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Facilities Maintenance Associate is responsible for executing daily tasks to maintain the physical integrity, and world class appearance of the facility. He/she is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment for our employees, constituents and customers, and insuring that the facility is always presented in the best ways possible. The Facilities Maintenance Associate is an important ambassador for the Southern Tier brand.

Reports to: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

• Ensures that all daily facility wide cleaning activities in Lakewood are executed safely and in accordance with SOPs
• Ensures that all tasks, as indicated by Maintenance & Cleaning Logs, are completed in all areas of responsibility (brewery, warehouse, distillery)
• Performs miscellaneous tasks and projects as directed by Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, including, but not limited to; painting, changing furnace filters, furniture moving, light maintenance, etc
• Responsible for the cleaning warehouse offices
• Responsible for maintaining flower beds (summer)
• Responsible for sidewalk snow removal (winter)
• Responsible for fire extinguisher inspections
• Responsible for eye wash station inspections

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of building/facility maintenance experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of grounds/landscaping experience preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Familiarity with brewery safety programs and priority commitment to worker safety
• An understanding of brewery sanitation and food safety programs
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Ability to follow task schedules
• Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
• Occasionally sit or stand for long periods of time
• Occasionally work above grade, from ladders and lifts
• Frequently work outdoors, year round, in a variety of temperature and weather conditions
• Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch. This position requires the ability to routinely and repeatedly lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds repeatedly
• Use their hands to perform fine manipulation, handle or feel, and must be able to reach with their hands and arms
• Safely and properly handle cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials in various size quantities, and operate complex moving machinery

Work Environment

The Facilities Maintenance Associate will primarily perform work duties outside the facility, as well as in production areas, warehouse areas and office areas.

While performing the duties of the job, the Facilities Maintenance Associate is regularly exposed to a damp, wet environment with hot liquids, airborne particles, chemicals and moving machinery. There can be loud noise levels, and protective eyewear is required on the production floor at all times.
