Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable individual to assist with a short-term project. This individual will be responsible for completing various maintenance and repair tasks within the school premises. This is a temporary position that will last approximately 2-3 weeks to help complete a project removing, re-sizing, and re-hanging whiteboards throughout the school.

• Work to start May 25, daily hours 8 am - 2 pm, Monday - Friday.
• Hourly pay rate: $14.50 - $20 / hour based on experience

Additional projects and responsibilities may include:

• Conduct general repairs and maintenance tasks within the school buildings and facilities.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks and unclogging drains.
• Repair or replace damaged doors, windows, locks, and other hardware.
• Install or repair electrical fixtures, switches, and outlets.
• Assist with painting and touch-up work in classrooms, hallways, and other areas as needed.
• Repair and maintain school furniture, including desks, chairs, and cabinets.
• Inspect and repair playground equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and report them to the supervisor.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff members or administrators.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while working on the premises.
• Collaborate with other staff members and contractors to coordinate project tasks and timelines.

Qualifications:

• Proven maintenance and repairs experience .
• Strong knowledge of various repair and maintenance techniques.
• Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
• Ability to use common tools and equipment effectively and safely.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
