Babbitting Service Inc, (BSI) is looking to fill Facility Service / Maintenance Technician position(s) at its South Elgin headquarters. To be considered, candidate should have manufacture/job shop, machine repair, material handling, preventative maintenance, automotive repair or related experience or worked in a machine shop environment. This position is responsible to ensure, maintain and keep the proper operating condition of the facility and shop inside and outside. BSI will provide train the right candidate(s).

Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Ability to change oils, coolants in all machinery
• Perform a variety of work throughout the facility including repair of machinery, tools, shop floor equipment, and various building maintenance
• Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance for various equipment as needed
• Establish and maintain maintenance records
• Perform preventative maintenance on some equipment with supervision
• Perform basic to intermediate repairs on BSI equipment as scheduled by Maintenance Manager
• Basic fabrication knowledge, skills and awareness

• Use knowledge from Hazmat training to keep shop environment clean and safe

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to drive a forklift with training (provided as needed)
• Able to use basic tools for the repair and maintenance of all shop equipment
• A basic understanding of blueprint and schematic diagram
