Enrichment Programs - Instructor (In Person)

Baroody Camps, Inc. provides before and after school enrichment programs to school children in various counties throughout the Northern Virginia area. We provide opportunities to manage and teach programs. We are looking for individuals who are interested in teaching elementary school children before or after school in STEM, Science, Sports, Art, Cooking and Theatre. There are other potential opportunities to teach other subjects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Be present at the class location for the entirety of class time (time ranges 2-5pm for approx. 1.5-2 total hours)
• Set up for class
• Take attendance and monitor snacks (when applicable)
• Teach student a provided curriculum for approximately 1 hour
• Manage the children in an appropriate and safe manner
• Ensure students are safely dismissed following class
• Clean up following class
• Communicate with parents and Baroody Camps staff.

Expectations:

• Be punctual and attentive each day of class
• Ensure the safety of children during arrivals, dismissals and during snack time (when applicable)
• Prepare for class each week; includes pick up of all materials/equipment.
• Teach children in a structured environment with curriculum provided
• Exhibit a high quality of classroom management skills
• Wear appropriate attire for working with children
• Communicate regularly with the Baroody Camps On-Site Coordinator

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be eligible for working in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have transportation
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of classroom management skills
• High level of customer service skills
• Some computer skills
• Works well under pressure
