Job Description and Essential Functions

Department: Cutting/Flatpack/Finishing Job Title: General Labor/Utility Floater

Education Requirement(s): Minimum High School Diploma/GED.

Summary:

May be asked to sort, feed cartons into machines, pack, clean, paint, etc. Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Follow all WestRock Core Values and Behaviors. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager.

Safety:

Gloves are required on the production floor and warehouses at all times. Please see Appendix A and Appendix B (Conover Specific) attached to the WestRock Glove Policy (CompliantPro). Bump cap per company policy

Training:

Training requirements for this position are maintained in the Training Module of Compliant Pro.

Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.

Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, hair nets, beard nets, composite/steel toe shoes, ear plugs, bump caps and gloves per glove policy.

• Testing and Measuring Ability (General Math): Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler.) Requires pallet jack operation. Pass Farnsworth Munsel-100 Hue Test.

• Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality.

• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

• Knowledge of Cartons: Perform quality checks on cartons being processed.

Essential/Marginal Functions and Physical Requirements:

Essential: Lift cartons onto belt.

Marginal: May be required to work in other areas as needed. Operate tow motor (if licensed) and/or hand jack.

• Check load tickets against cartons being ran
• Feed machine, place cartons on belt maintaining proper stack height and carton direction
• Ensure stack is straight
• Change pallets and/or loads
• Feed cartons through shrink tunnel
• Assist in line clearance procedure
• Air board
• Flat pack cartons
• Special projects
• Cleaning, painting
