I&M Technician

Pay range is $22+ depending on experience.

The main office is in Kearney, MO and the position services the surrounding area. Occasional travel to western Kansas and potentially eastern Colorado will be required at times. Trucks, tools, and equipment are provided and travel expenses are covered.

The responsibilities of the Installation and Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to, installation and diagnostic maintenance of premise cabling and associated end-point IP devices. Working with customers, deriving program needs and design solutions and implementing those solutions is an important responsibility of this position. Performs job duties consistent within safety, legal, and regulatory requirements; company standards, culture and business practices. Acts with the highest level of business and personal ethical standards in all aspects of job performance.

Responsibilities:

· Perform installation, and maintenance of any structured cabling system using the latest, most innovative components in the industry:

- Install and terminate fiber optic cable for both single and multimode fiber

- Work with POTs and copper wire

- Install Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection solutions

· Test all new cabling infrastructure in accordance with TIA/EIA standards

· Provide certified test results with proof of as-built documentation

· Install IP end-points for VoIP and Wi-Fi solutions, document MAC information as needed

· Contributes to departmental activities and programs by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

· Notifies the manager of any servicing needs the vehicle may require, such as oil changes, tires, and general maintenance, as well as keeping vehicles and equipment clean and in good shape.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.

· Maintain a professional appearance.

- Install CAT3, CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, & CAT6a

Qualifications:

· Ability to learn additional skills pertaining to Cabling & Infrastructure enhancements

· Working technical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot structured cabling system

· Proven problem-solving abilities

· Experienced in the use of hand tools and drills

· A valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.

· Interact with a variety of customers and commit to customer-focused service.

· Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.

· Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine hazards of the road.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under time constraints, without close supervision.

· Physical capability and working conditions

• This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions.
• Constant – standing, watching, listening
• Frequent – walking, reaching, grasping, pulling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and light to heavy lifting
• Occasional – climbing, balancing, crawling

· As a safety-sensitive job, drug screening, motor vehicle report, and background check are required.
