Job Title: Field Service Technician I

Department: Global Technical Services (BU130)

Reporting To: Business Unit Manager

Position Purpose:

Harland Medical Systems (HMS) is an ISO 13485 company that provides hydrophilic coating applications for medical devices manufactured worldwide. The facility is located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and provides process development and application services for those customers wishing to outsource the coating of their devices or to refine the coating process prior to purchasing coating equipment from Harland Medical Systems

This position will be responsible for providing timely onsite support to customer and post-sales implementation of all Harland Medical System’s equipment and services worldwide. To support Harland’s reputation for quality customer service, this position is expected to meet customer expectations by delivering prompt, accurate, and courteous service.

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree (A.A.) preferred but not required
• 2+ years of related field service experience preferred but not required
• Insurable driving record, current driver license and reliable transportation for travel to customer sites
• Valid Passport or the ability to obtain one
• Ability to travel globally including rent cars, obtain visas, and get required vaccinations.
• Knowledge and experience working with ISO 13485 or ISO 9000 environment
• Computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment
• Proven customer service skills, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Self-starter and independent worker with excellent verbal and written communication

Responsibilities:

• Install and replace equipment, parts, and components
• Perform training at customer site on Harland equipment in groups up to 10 people
• Work in ISO qualified clean room environments
• Be knowledgeable and follow all ISO 13485 standards
• Read and understand all schematics and drawings to effectively detect and resolve issues of electrical and mechanical components of coating equipment
• Report the status of all required field service to Harland Medical Systems and the customer with good documentation
• Provide strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness to the Business Unit Manager
• On call support for customers
• Perform other duties as required

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on level surfaces for a prolonged period. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms above shoulder height and below the waist. The employee frequently is required stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Using proper lifting techniques, the employee must be able to lift to 50 lbs. The employee may work on ladders up to 6 feet above the floor. Specific vision abilities required by this job include corrected 20/20 vision, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position may be exposed to areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

International - up to 30-50%

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
