Finance Systems Accounting Analyst

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Be the main point of contact for users of Finance systems including daily operations, administration and related issues
  • Liaise with internal IT and third-party service providers as required
  • Manage system access permissions in line with control rules and ensure the segregation of duties
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and enhancements to controls
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders, both within Finance and the wider business, to deliver key projects
  • Drive and/or support system upgrades and implementations by:
  • Supporting the development of business cases and project plans
  • Completing system testing and UAT
  • Documenting processes and procedures
  • Providing training to end users as required
  • Ensure data consistency and integrity across systems interfacing with Finance to maintain accuracy of reporting
  • Design and develop reports to enhance stakeholder decision making
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as required

Desired Experience, Skills and Education:

  • 2+ years experience working within a Finance department and frequent use of a finance ERP (previous experience of Accounts IQ and SAP Concur desired but not essential)
  • Experience required demonstrating an understanding of ledger accounts, debits and credits at the transactional level
  • Proactive individual with evidence of driving continuous improvements across processes and systems
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interpret and present data clearly; comfort presenting output to relevant stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and comfort manipulating large datasets
  • High level of computer literacy, including database and spreadsheet tools; proficient user of MS Excel
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise
  • Team orientated as well as ability to work independently

Desired but not Essential:

  • Experience implementing system upgrades and enhancements
  • Experience of successfully integrating finance systems with other in-house systems, e.g. Salesforce
  • Experience managing and working with third-party service providers
  • Part-qualified accountant
  • The ideal candidate will be results-driven, self-motivated and take the initiative in identifying relevant opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reporting.
