Financial Aid Information Assistant (South)
Job description
Pay Grade; Assistant 3
This position serves as initial contact for prospective students and continuing students by discussing financial aid policies and procedures and answering inquires either in person, phone or email exchange.

- Provides information to students, clarifies initial education goals and facilitates students access to financial aid funding
- Informs students of available financial aid programs and services and responds to in person, electronic and telephone inquiries regarding financial aid, eligible financial aid academic programs, registration and general information
- Reviews financial aid application and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
Participates in college-wide and service area activities and events that promote the growth of the College
Assists Financial Aid Specialists as needed
Prepare incoming files for distribution to appropriate counselors
Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs
Be innovative, creative, and motivated
Exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Good organizational skills
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of closely related office experience
Preferences:
Some college coursework
Experience with community college policies and procedures
