JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the Business Finance & Administration & Shared Services group in the US & Canada Finance division, the Analyst position will assume a support role in achieving financial objectives. This resource will primarily provide support in areas related to the Continental Administrative cost budgeting, critiquing, and reporting. Additionally, the role will aid in managing the balance sheet and ensuring adherence to internal and external accounting policies. The role will be required to partner with Marriott Business Services, Financial Reporting & Accounting, Discipline and Market Support Teams, Financial Contract & Compliance, as well as other Finance Business Partners. Duties may expand to other work as needed.
BUSINESS CONTEXT/EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Expected Contributions
- Responsible for generating monthly details booked to the General ledger, Accounts Payable, and Concur system.
- Serve as a point of contact for a broad variety of admin-related requests including charge code submissions, new department requests or maintenance, and billing inquiries. Provide support to the Sr. Director, Sr. Manager, and Assistant Manager throughout the year.
- Engage Marriott International organizations such as MBS, business leaders, and other teams to research data anomalies.
- Participate in the annual admin budgeting and rate-setting processes.
- Maintain key process documents and distribution lists for annual planning cycles.
- Actively participate in the testing of admin budgeting and forecasting tools and systems.
- Assist with the overall review of Marriott’s admin balance sheet position each month.
- Ensure adherence to event tracking requirements and standard operating procedures such as budget reviews and funding documentation.
- Maintain US & Canada Admin Finance online support tools such as the Business Support Landing page and the positions request tool.
- Execute journal entries for select programs and services for the business plan, budget, and forecasting periods.
- Oversee the annual billing and invoicing process for certain Marriott partnerships.
- Serve as a partner to business support teams to aid in the overall health and timely recovery of their program and services expenses.
- Participate in the identification and implementation of process improvements and special projects as needed.
- Supports a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, profitability and mitigate risk.
- Some travel may be required.
- Perform other duties as business demands.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience and Education
- Minimum 1 year of relevant finance/accounting experience preferred.
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree required; Finance or Accounting discipline preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong financial acumen with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of accounting and the correlation to Financial Statements
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and controls
- Adept in modeling in Microsoft Office Excel
- Experience with PeopleSoft/MIGL/SmartView is a plus
- Experience with PowerBI, Automate, or Sharepoint is a plus
- Broad understanding of accounting and finance processes and systems

LOCATION
- This position will be based at Marriott’s Corporate Headquarters in Bethesda, MD. Candidates will be expected to work a flexible hybrid schedule.
