S.D. Ireland is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team!

Job Summary:

We are seeking an operationally focused Financial Controller that will own the day-to-day finance and accounting operations essential to keeping our business running smoothly. This role will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other executive leaders within the company. Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Supervise and lead the Accounting team by providing training, guidance, and technical expertise.

· Work with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Prepare financial statements; including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.

· Direct and oversee the general ledger including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions and financial reporting.

· Coordinates annual financial audits and oversees the activities of independent auditors.

· Oversee and support Accounts Receivable Department with outstanding receivables and difficult delinquent customers.

· Support the Chief Financial Officer in financial planning & analysis activities including budget development, recommendations for cost containment, and the development of long-term financing strategies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Strong leadership skills.

· Analytical and organizational skills.

· Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems, including Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Proven written and verbal communication skills.

· Well-versed in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and state and federal regulations.

· Must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization.

· Self-motivated with a high degree of responsibility including confidentiality, sense of urgency, and accountability.

Education and Experience:

· Advanced degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.

· Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience working in the daily operations of a financial department, with at least three (3) years in a management level position.

· Experience with Construction Software preferred, but not required.
