My Client, the world's largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance company is looking for a Financial Lines Underwriter to join their expanding team. Are you an experienced Underwriter or Client Services professional within the insurance market who is looking for a change in direction? You will have responsibility for the growth of the portfolio with key brokers and clients while devoloping a portfolio of existing accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
• Assist Financial Lines Manager with development and management of portfolio, market profile and producer relationships - This involves regular liaison with brokers, clients and business development managers.
• Maintain accurate files, monitor and maintain existing policies.
• Work within the framework of ethical and service standards.
• Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability.
• Ensure quality control by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews, running regular management meetings and peer reviews.
• We expect you to prioritise and develop products within area of specialist expertise to improve client retention and new business - This involves collaborating with peers across business lines in Europe and globally.
• Represent and promote the company corporately to brokers, internal and external clients - This may involve servicing key producers and clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention as well as maximising cross-selling opportunities.
• Manage junior colleagues peer review process as well as providing mentoring, training and coaching where appropriate.
• You will allocate resources to meet business objectives.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of Financial Lines, in particular Professional Indemnity, the insurance market and competitors.
• Proven experience of dealing with brokers and clients.
• Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
• An experienced underwriting professional.
• Considerable market experience.
• ACII qualified desired but not essential.
