POSITION SUMMARY
As the Flight Mechanic, you will fly with and perform maintenance on company aircraft, engines, and engine components as well as ensure the safety and security of the aircraft. You will manage situations when aircraft requires maintenance away from the base, including internationally, and provide oversight of maintenance performed by contractors (domestic and international) and confirms work is completed according to company specifications as well. You may act as Maintenance Representative, Authorized Inspector, or Flight Authorized Inspector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Performs maintenance on company aircraft, engines, and aircraft components including but not limited to, periodic aircraft service checks, aircraft line maintenance, servicing, and dispatch. Aircraft and aircraft component overhaul, repair, disassembly, assembly, and general maintenance at the company maintenance base or location of maintenance event/incident.

Must perform all assigned maintenance duties in accordance with all approved maintenance materials.

Must notify an authorized inspector whenever inspection is required before completion of an assigned task.

Is required to sign for and be held accountable for all work accomplished on company aircraft and components.

Perform buyback of company RII items as defined in the appropriate aircraft MPM and GMM excluding Logbook/Airworthiness release.

Act as Maintenance Representative as needed.

Supervise maintenance events to include A checks and AOG events.
-
Ensure contract maintenance completes all maintenance entries correctly according to Company manuals and procedures.

Verify contract maintenance has received maintenance event paperwork and all applicable parts and supplies prior to the commencement of the event.

Supervise maintenance and be available to assist with contract maintenance administratively or manpower-wise.
-
Troubleshoot aircraft discrepancies when contract maintenance needs additional support.
-
When in an AOG situation outside of the maintenance base communicate in a timely manner with maintenance control all applicable information in order to resolve the event as quickly as possible.

Build relationships with maintenance personnel at aircraft destinations in order to represent a positive company image and to help facilitate a network that will be of assistance during AOG situations.

Perform the required duties of an Authorized Inspector when designated.

Perform required duties as described for a Flight Authorized Inspector when required or needed.

Monitor personal duty time.

Perform the duties of stock clerk including ordering of parts, retrieval of parts, checking, inspection, stocking, RO/EO requesting, RO prep of parts, shipping of parts, and or drop off of parts.

Assist in the organizing, cleanliness, and upkeep of all workspaces, storage areas, and stockrooms.

Ensure aircraft parts are properly requested issuance when used.
-
Perform, follow up, or inform contract maintenance on logbook/paperwork correction requests, part repair orders, and exchange order emails.

Perform all required duties on TRAX during A checks (open/close non-routines and close work orders).

At the completion of maintenance, events verify all required paperwork is complete and correct.

Scan and send all paperwork to records and maintenance control via email and FedEx.
-
Prior to flights review the daily status report and communicate with maintenance control all information that will be required.

Perform aircraft pre-departure checks to include previous logbook page reviews.

Prior to leaving home for work, contact maintenance control/flight ops and verify the departure time
has not been changed. -
Verify all aircraft supplies are stocked including crew cleaning supplies, garbage bags, lavatory water, administrative supplies, and maintenance consumables.

Verify MOK can be logged on and accounted for.

Check for Maintenance packages in the warehouse and bring them to the office.

Strap and relocate used aircraft tires and brakes for shipping.

Check, stock, and properly tag new tires and brakes in the warehouse cage.

Comply and ensure all FAK procedures and parts tracking policies are complied with.

Ensure proper condition of aircraft FAK and flight mech toolbox prior to flights.

Ensure the security of aircraft and completion of required security checks when required.

Maintain reliability including regular attendance and punctuality

Contribute as a positive and productive member of the work environment

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Must have valid FAA Airframe and Power Plant License

Prior Boeing aircraft experience:
-
Need B737 experience for the Anchorage base
-
Need 767 or Boeing wide-body experience for the Miami base
-

Must have a valid passport from a country of citizenship and be able to travel internationally without restriction.

Must be able to travel regularly, including overnight and multi-day trips
-
Prior experience as a flight mechanic preferred
-
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
-
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, and background check and receive TSA clearance
for access to restricted areas
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively within the Maintenance Department, with contractors/personnel in location destinations, and with other stakeholders as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Most work is performed on the outdoor airline ramp or in the maintenance hangar
- May be exposed to adverse weather conditions (extreme heat or cold), wet surfaces, icy conditions, high winds, etc.
- Will travel to multiple domestic and international destinations with varying levels of services and infrastructure
- Will be working around stationary and moving aircraft and aircraft ground equipment
- May be required to work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- May be required to stay on/with aircraft for extended periods, including overnight
- Use of personal protective equipment may be required
PHYSICAL EFFORT
- The employee must frequently move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70
pounds. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger,
handle, or feel objects or tools. - The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms (full range of
motion); climb or balance; stoop, kneel; crouch, or crawl. - The employee must have the ability to climb and stand on ladders for up to two hours.
