ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Food & Beverage Supervisor to join the team! As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of a restaurant. Answering the Food & Beverage Director, you will ensure the restaurant’s success by training and coaching qualified staff, monitoring customer satisfaction, and making sure that all products and beverages are ordered in the correct quantities.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to safely utilize all kitchen tools and equipment.
- Able to speak clearly and respectfully to staff and guests at all times; Able to delegate tasks effectively and respectfully.
- Oversee food preparation and conduct daily inspection of restaurant and equipment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
- Making sure bar and lounge is adhering to hotel guidelines at all times.
- Be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
- Be able to walk, kneel, sit, stand, and bend arms and knees without assistance.
- Be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and late hours when necessary.
Specific Requirements of the Role:
- Manage inventory and purchases food and supplies.
- Participate in Food & beverage meetings; offering ideas that will help the success of the restaurant/lounge.
- Train and coach staff members; providing motivation and one on one meetings to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Organize employee schedules, assisting with scheduling with the Food & Beverage Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Food and Beverage.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of previous restaurant experience required; hotel food and beverage preferred.
- Bartending experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse personnel, such as food vendors, cooks, restaurant managers, and servers
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines
