Job Title: Food Prep

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Food Prep to join our team at our Mediterranean restaurant. As a Food Prep, you will be responsible for assisting the chef in preparing and cooking a variety of Mediterranean dishes. Your duties will include chopping and slicing vegetables, preparing meats, marinating ingredients, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. You may also have the opportunity to help make meals during busy periods.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the chef in preparing a variety of Mediterranean dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.

- Chop and slice vegetables, fruits, and meats to prepare them for cooking.

- Measure and mix ingredients for marinades, sauces, and dressings.

- Prepare and arrange ingredients for line cooks to use during service.

- Help make meals during busy periods.

- Keep the kitchen and prep areas clean and organized according to health and safety guidelines.

- Follow food safety procedures to ensure that food is stored, handled and cooked properly.

- Help with inventory and ordering of food and supplies as needed.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- At least 1 year of experience as a food prep in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

- Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and ingredients.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.

- Strong time management and organizational skills.

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
