With over 50 plants across North America, the Calhoun, GA, plant is a part of our Meat division that makes JBC, ABC, Bread Coatings, Batter, and Dry Blends. We are actively recruiting for an Operations Manager for Calhoun, GA where you'll have the opportunity to work in a fast paced and fun environment!

Key responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instill a Safety-First culture.

Actively participate in health and safety improvements.

Provide effective leadership and coaching for the production leadership team.

Oversee production activity to ensure timely responsiveness to both internal and external customers.

Establish productivity strategy and objectives with the plant manager and ensure they are met.

Control, monitor, and analyze performance indicators and ensure necessary improvements.

Control department costs by monitoring overtime and optimizing use of labor, equipment, and materials.

Develop and maintain qualified personnel within the plant production department, both supervision and operators.

Liaison with Quality Assurance on all quality issues to co-develop cost effective business solutions to problems emanating in process or from incorrect usage of raw material.

Participate in compliance with quality assurance standards and support quality control processes.

Be resident department expert on safe evacuating of product from all tanks. Must be able to explain safe operation of pumps, mixers, filters, lift trucks, and other equipment to team members.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.

Lead and conduct performance evaluations of his/her team.

Participate as a member of the Site Leadership Team.

Monitors production progress supervises the work force and achieves production targets as scheduled.

Actively participates in the development and implementation of business plan objectives relating to production, lead-time, quality, and cost.

Always understands conditions on the plant floor and takes necessary actions to achieve production targets.

Accurately communicates production progress and problems to senior management.

Determines the causes of production downtime and resolves issues.

Detects, analyzes, and reports performance variances.

Develops and implements strategies to maximize efficiency to achieve business plan objectives and make continuous improvements.

Ensures conformance to production schedules and product quality specifications by preparing operating schedules and coordinating manufacturing activities.

Participates in the development of work instructions and ensures training and compliance of production employees to the instructions.

Contributes to decisions relating to exempt and non-exempt production personnel regarding employment, performance ratings, promotions, transfers, and terminations.

Builds and maintains effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues.

Ensures that Company policies are applied consistently and fairly across the production workforce.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
