Food Services Manager

- Schedule: Flexible schedule Monday thru Friday with possibility to work weekends based on agency needs.

Description
The Bridge is seeking a Food Services Manager that supervises the Food Services program at a 100-bed emergency shelter for survivors of domestic/sexual violence and homelessness, to ensure compliance with grant and other guidelines. Manage department by providing ongoing supervision of Food Services Program staff, including, but not limited to orientation and training of staff on proper utilization/cleanliness of equipment, ensuring cultural awareness and sensitivity to client nutrition needs, and ensuring adherence to agency policy and procedures.
The Food Services Manager will also oversee daily documentation of meals provided to all clients to ensure compliance with the USDA Child Adult and Care Food (CACFP) Program, Houston Food Bank, and City of Pasadena Health Department requirements. Complete/supervise the preparation of daily meal production records to ensure compliance with the Child Adult and Care Food Program. Plan weekly menus in compliance with Child and Adult Care Program (CACFP) grant. Responsible for all aspects of food preparation and service. Develop, implement and monitor ongoing inventory. Purchase commodities for emergency shelter. Oversee the collection of food donations within the community and of food products from the Houston Food Bank as necessary.
Furthermore, monitor and assist staff with meal preparation and serving of food to ensure understanding of and compliance with food preparation and handling safety guidelines & conduct regularly scheduled self-audits to monitor compliance. Ensure food storage and kitchen areas are kept clean and orderly. Oversee routine equipment cleaning and sanitizing. Assure proper temperatures and methods of food storage to include recording daily temperatures.
Conduct all work in accordance with The Bridge’s service philosophies and mission; adhering to policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- A Food Manager’s certificate is required.
- Experience with large batch cooking and meeting scheduled serving times, with a minimum of two years’ food preparation experience in a commercial/school lunch program or similar type establishment.
- A minimum of one year supervisory experience in commercial food setting.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with school lunch program documentation requirements.

- Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must pass drug screen
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
