Must have prior quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.

Position: Quality Hot Inspector

Reports to: Quality Manager

Shift: 5:45am - 3:00pm

FLSA Status: Hourly

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Interpret part drawings by reading blueprints.
• Use a wide variety of measuring tools.
• Read and follow process control plans (PCP’s).
• Understand and interpret statistical process controls (SPC) charts
• Understand and check for visual defects.
• Assist crews with problem solving.
• Identify product and process opportunities.
• Generate maintenance work orders for tooling and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions: Will provide statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples; will check Hammer Shop product for correct dimensions.

Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Requirements: 1+ years working as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment.

Skill Requirements: Basic math and computer skills. Familiarity with calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a hot steel forging environment (heat, noise, etc) Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 25# approximately 15 times during the day. Must have general computer knowledge, and be able to learn / use additional software as needed.

If the employee selects one of the HSA medical plans above, they are automatically enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA). The Company makes $500 annual contributions for employees who choose single-person medical coverage and $1000 annual contributions for coverage of 2 or more persons.
• Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $100,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.
• 401(k) On the first month after 60 days of employment, all employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan with Merrill Lynch. In profitable years, the Company may match employee contributions with discretionary bonuses to all employees currently participating in our 401(k) plan.
• Tuition Reimbursement – After one year of service, employees are eligible to receive tuition reimbursement for work related course work.
