- Monitor/direct visitor’s access to building
- Sign visitors into building
- Greet students, staff and visitors
- Direct visitor, family, student, and staff questions to appropriate individuals.
- Answer and/or direct phone calls.
- Answer general questions
- Taking and delivering messages
- Photocopy small jobs as needed
- Send/receive faxes/scans
- May receive payments, count money, prepare deposits, calculate and compile figures
- Prepare and file various basic reports used by the school district
- Enter, retrieve, verify, import and export data, correct and track data
- Preparing routine spreadsheets, may create templates
- May assist with other general data entry
- May assist with technology, website and social media
- Assist with school wide communications
- May enter/receive student files
- Assist with school events and activity planning
- Backup support for department/building coverage
- May maintain building/department calendars
- May assist in creation/updating of school communications and publications.
- May sort/deliver incoming mail
- Assist with assembling mailings
- Attends meetings and trainings as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous clerical experience preferred.
- Previous computer/technology experience required.
- Ability to provide basic oral and written communication.
- Ability to vary sequence of duties.
- Knowledge and application of basic computer skills.
- Ability to inter-relate with others and present a positive interaction with public, peers and administration in all communications.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Operate multi-line telephone system.
- Operate front entry system, computer, printer, photocopy machine, fax machine and two-way radios, etc.
- Proficiency or ability to learn various software applications.
- This position may provide some work direction and/or training to other activity staff.
- Position involves occasional kneeling, reaching or bending.
- Position involves frequent fingering keys for word processing.
- Position involves frequent repetitive motion in performing tasks.
- Position involves occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Position requires regular periods of sitting at computer.
