Responsibilities:
Hours may vary:9-2 Monday - Thursday8-12 FridayMondays and Fridays could be PRN depending on provider patient load.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet and Check-In/Check-Out patients- Prepare patient charts and verify insurance coverage
- Verify patient information and ensure the accuracy of the information entered into the practice management system
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Collect copays and other patient balances
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data
- Use computer system to generate information necessary for billing, including insurance and PCP information
- Reconcile daily charges and cash, checks, and bankcard payments.
- Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly waiting area.
- Minimum 1-year medical office experience is strongly preferred
- Completion of a Medical Administrative Assistant program or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, telephone & written communication skills
- Computer proficient
