We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Front Office Manager in the beautiful Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa.

Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa is a luxury estate, nestled in 21 acres of lush green Meath countryside. The Georgian mansion which welcomes visitors today was originally built in 1764, on the same site as the original castle.

Objective of the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Front Office Manager will oversee the running of the Front Office department. To maximise customer service opportunities, manage communication across all departments and maximise room revenue by working in conjunction with the Operations Manager, Revenue Manager and Rooms Division Manager.

As part of your role:

  • To train all front desk colleagues on maximizing customer service interactions.
  • To ensure correct and accurate communication across all departments.
  • To achieves maximum occupancy and average rate by utilising yield management.
  • To attend and contribute to departmental meetings, morning meetings and operations meetings.
  • To manage the Front Office Department in terms of providing back-up to reservations, training, rotas and provide cross training where necessary.
  • To deal with guest comments, both compliments & complaints and develop strategies to improve the level of service within the department.
  • To utilise up-selling techniques.
  • To initiate activities to improve guest service and efficiency in the department’s operations.
  • To record reservation information accurately, identifying and recording group and business codes.
  • Assist in controlling and pre-allocating rooms and arrangements for groups booked.
  • To record requests for special accommodation and suites.

What have you done before?

  • Excellent leadership capabilities to effectively manage a large team.
  • Previous experience in a Front Office Manager or Assistant Manager role is essential.
  • The ability to work towards achieving financial goals and targets.
  • Proven ability to supervise and direct team members with a track record of delivering guest satisfaction, employee retention and engagement.
  • Strong ability to work efficiently and deal with busy periods competently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-Motivated and Enthusiastic.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills.
