Job description
Lead educational programs for youth & adults in the South Carolina Botanical Garden. Plan, prepare and teach quality, nature based educational lessons to general public. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Support for the administration of educational programs including regular and seasonal tours, classes, summer camps, and departmental outreach events. Duties may include managing course materials and course set-up and maintenance of educational spaces.
30% - Essential - Interacts with the public as an educator. Duties to include leading tours and working with docents and interacting with visitors through the Garden Ambassador program, which will require some weekend hours.
10% - Essential - Assist with departmental outreach events
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience - 2+ years as an educator for camp, school, or other educational setting.

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
