Duties and responsibilities:Under general supervision, construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client.
Utilizes a variety of woodworking tools and techniques using stationary & handheld tools.
Cutting and joining wood to make parts according to the plans.
Making cabinetry and furniture pieces according to specifications, including hinges, locks, and handles.
Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using blueprints or design plans for reference.
Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools.
Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed.
Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units.
Maintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials, such as nails and screws.
Install cabinets according to written or verbal instructions.
Experience:
General carpentry and / or cabinet building preferred.
Table Saw experience required.
Knowledge of hand tools and use of sanders required.
Physical Demands:
Able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 50pounds.
