Job description

Perform a variety of instructional duties assisting a licensed staff member in the implementation of a specific program for individual students or small groups.


GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents and teachers.
  • Ability to follow general oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in task performance.
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background/fingerprint check ($66 fee)
  • Ability to meet the “Highly Qualified“ paraprofessional requirements (*below for more info)
  • Provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19 or a medical or religious exemption

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible


WAGES:
$14.49 – $15.99 per hour (DOE and the OSEA Union Agreement)

Tillamook School District requires that all paraprofessionals be “Highly Qualified”. There are 3 ways you can meet these requirements.

  • Possess an associate’s (or higher) degree, or
  • Complete two years of study at an institute of higher education with a minimum of 72 quarter college credits or 48 semester college credits, or
  • Pass a local assessment test demonstrating basic knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics skills. (Accuplacer) TBCC offers testing upstairs in the library, Mon-Thurs 9am-7pm and Fri 9am-5pm.
