Your Role
The Distribution Center Manager leads the operations management team in the execution of daily activities of the warehouse and production lineside logistics functions, including labor scheduling, supervision and the proper use of space, equipment and workforce. Leading the operations management team, staffing, warehouse and production operations, maintenance of the facility and equipment, implementation of safety, security, housekeeping and sanitation programs, budgeting and customer service. You will report to the Director of Operations.Your Responsibilities
- Develop programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and use of the facility and equipment.
- Lead the operations management team in the planning and scheduling of all services including receiving, storing, sequencing, delivery to the production area, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met.
- You will plan long range labor needs based on production forecasts and input from management.
- Attend forecast and productions meetings with customer and develop smooth flow of product into the facility for both storage and delivery to production areas.
- Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.
- You will develop and implement a product locator system and update.
- Develop procedures to ensure the efficient operation and use of all operational and material handling equipment.
- Develop, implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.
- You will manage LEAN program in facility, including standardized work, visual management, and 5S
- Ensure current and accurate inventory control for each storage area and production lines
- Assure that production orders are picked, sequenced, and delivered and within prescribed cost levels.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics or related field required
- 5+ years of Management experience in a 3PL environment
- Experience in WMS and Lean six sigma
- Experience in Process improvement.
